Biddeford Pool in Snow
Woke up this morning to snow once again falling from the sky. I didn't let that stop me from having an adventure though. I headed out for Biddeford Pool to see what I could find. The north wind certainly didn't encourage me to stay on the beach very long, however seeing the beach covered in winter was breathtaking.
Perched on one of the large rocks right at the water line was a peregrine falcon...just sitting huddled against the snow and the wind. I wasn't able to get a very good picture as I didn't want to get too close and disturb it. It was a beautiful bird to admire from a distance through the binoculars.
After the beach area, I drove along the rocky shore road. Plenty of common eiders and black ducks to see, along with a couple of loons. Couldn't see too far out with the heavy snow, but it was still a beautiful day at the beach.
